Fire extinguisher servicing is essential and is documented in BS 5306. It is vital that they work when they are needed. The British Standards – which provide guidelines for fire safety – state that annual maintenance of fire protection equipment, including fire extinguishers must be carried out by a trained person.
Fire extinguishers require an annual inspection to British Standard 5306 Part 3.
